Essex amateur Chris Stubbs M6EDF is launching two high altitude balloons today, as part of the schools Pi In The Sky project.
The balloons are being launched from the Elsworth site near Cambridge, on the behalf of the following schools:
- William De Ferrers
- Chelmer Valley High
There’s a live stream from launch site: http://www.livehab.com/
FERRER Balloon
This was the first to launch, at 11:10am, and was audible in Essex on 434.250MHz SSB – The Pi had an onboard camera, so will be transmitting still pictures.
VALLEY Balloon
This launched just after 11:40am. Frequency is 434.100MHz SSB
The two balloons travelled east for a while before ditching in East Anglia. Chris M6EDF in the chase car was able to recover both payloads.
