Sunday the 17th of January 2016 saw the second Galleywood Gathering – These are informal get-togethers of Essex Hams, in the warmth of the Horse & Groom pub, not far from the Galleywood Common /P location.
The event started at 1pm, with people drifting in and out throughout the afternoon. Great to see so many people turn up to chew the fat, have a catch-up and swap ideas.
Well done to Charlie M0PZT for organising the second Galleywood Gathering, following a successful event in December. It’s too chilly to play /P at the moment, so meeting up in a central pub makes a lot of sense. It’s a nice pub too, with friendly staff, who must wonder what on earth we’re all about. Hopefully we didn’t scare off too many locals.
Hopefully more Gatherings to come, especially during the more cold and gloomy months. Great to see so many friendly faces, and a couple of new ones too – plus a potential Foundation candidate.
