Next month, it’s the 4th International Air Ambulance Week, and the event’s organisers are keen to remind radio amateurs and clubs everywhere to get behind the event, and help to promote the vital work that the UK’s network of air ambulances do.
International Air Ambulance Week Manager, John M0HEM, recently got in touch with Essex Ham to see if we’d be able to put together a short video to promote this year’s event. Here’s what we’ve come up with:
About the event
The event is now in its fourth year, with the 2017 event running between the 9th and the 17th of September 2017.
There are around 40 air ambulances in operation around the UK, and they need your support. If you or your local club want to get involved, you can find more details on the International Air Ambulance Week website.
Essex Ham’s Event
Following on from previous years’ events, Essex Ham will once again be operating in support of the Essex Air Ambulance. This year, we’ll be using the callsign GB4EAA, and we’re planning to operate from the home of the Essex Air Ambulance – the Anglian Flight Centres in Earls Colne, near Colchester. The provisional dates are as follows, and we’ll be adding more detail a little closer to the event:
- Saturday the 9th of September
- Wednesday 13th of September
- Sunday 17th of September
How Can You Help?
There are several ways that you can get involved. Could you or your club set up a special station? If so, you’ll find details on how to register here: www.amateur-events.org/IAW
