There are a couple of Essex Amateur Radio events taking place this weekend, Saturday 20th August and Sunday 21st August 2011.
Lightship, Tollesbury
The Trinity Lightship in Tollesbury is taking part in the Lighthouses/Lightships On The Air Weekend. All are welcome to come along and see transmissions from the bright red lightship moored at in Woodrolfe Creek, on the north coast of the River Blackwater. We understand Andy G0IBN will be transmitting mostly using morse, but SSB voice transmissions will also be made.

Sandford Mill, Chelmsford
Sunday the 21st August is one of the few open days at the Sandford Mill Science Museum. The Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society (CARS) will be there in force operating from the Marconi hut on SSB.Demonstations of Internet radio will be in effect from the Gazebo.
The Open Day at Sandford Mill is a great family day. Free entry, free parking and refreshments available.
