An apology
Sorry to all participants, but I had to drop off the net mid-flow. By the time I was able to return, the net had ended. Again, sorry for ducking out – hopefully normal service to be resumed next week. Pete

My comments to Norman were that IDA is a simplex unit and that you can’t use it for multiply qsos. While I transmit unless you can hear me simplex you won’t hear anything. You would need to have all or most of the participants connected via the internet. I have in the past run a net on Echolink but I’m not available Thursday
Peter
If a Monday Night Net is to be held on MB7IDA-L (New frequency: 145.3375MHz, 110.9 CTCSS)it is important that all participating stations can hear each other, on 145.3375MHz. It is much easier to demonstrate EchoLink to a newcomer if they are registered EchoLink users (have their own node number)and have access to both PC and RF access simultaneously. It should be taken into account that MB7IDA-L is only a simplex link based at a Danbury address and is licenced to transmit at 1 watt. Note that all EchoLink over VoIP is via a server in the USA so 3 secs must be given between overs to allow for the delay.
I’m beginning to think that trying this could be more trouble than it’s worth. Anyone feel we should persevere? Or shall we stick to what we know works, and perhaps have some separate Echolink one-to-one sessions to help get people comfy with the intricacies?
