The golden rules of coaxial cable are always purchase the best coax you can afford, always terminate cables properly and apply waterproof tape (self amalgamating tape) to all plugs as soon as installation is complete. Never have joints in a run of coax unles you can help it, they will cause a Loss of both transmit and receive signal. Inspect cables on a regular basis for damage, nicks and cuts that may let water into the cable. When installing cables do not try and turn a corner too sharply, with RG 213 coax, you should not attempt to turn a radius of less then 100mm diameter.
