On this page, you’ll find information on the Thurrock Acorns Amateur Radio Club (TAARC), one of the amateur radio clubs in Essex.
Thurrock Acorns formed in January 2014. It concentrates on members in and around the Grays Thurrock area, with field days and club activities in the local area.
To get the club’s members more involved, there are various activity coordinators, who report on progress at the monthly club meetings. The club is also involved with Foundation and Intermediate training, according to demand.
The Thurrock Acorns ARC normally meets once a month in Grays and the club runs a weekly 2m net (simplex, not via a repeater).

UHF signal generator free to anyone interested.
hi brenda is the signal generator still available?
Hi, Is this club still active. I am looking for a club with a largeish membersip.
Regards, Alan M1DKP
Yes Alan, they’re an active club. They switched to online meetings due to Covid, but their calendar for 2022 shows lots of activity planned.
Hello, is this club still online only?
This month, a bit of both – an online Zoom meeting, and tomorrow (Sat 17th Sept), they’re out all day at a public event in Purfleet if you want to go and meet them. Take a look at their website for a list of upcoming events.
