On Tuesday the 3rd of January 2012, the Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society will be holding ““What is NOT covered on the Foundation Courses”.
On the first Tuesday of the month, the Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society hold their club night, and the January get-together is aimed at the many M3s, M6s, M0s and Gs who are a bit rusty about operating Amateur Radio equipment.
The evening is intended to be a practical, educational and fun evening, where you will have the opportunity to have to ask questions and try something new – an ideal opportunity to get some friendly advice, and if you’ve been “quiet” for a while, maybe find a new way to get back on-air.
Here’s a sample of what’s in store:
- CARS Members will have a table set up to show how “The Earth to your Station can radiate”,
- Another table will demonstrate “How to tune an Aerial – using a Manual MFJ and Auto Tuners”,
- Another will have a Transmitter set up to show “How NOT to set-up an Amateur Radio Station”.
- How to use an ordinary electric light bulb for a Dummy Load will be demonstrated.
- CARS will have its Famous Raffle run by Peter Graves, G0KSJ. Please purchase a Raffle Ticket (or two!) – you may win a prize.
The evening kicks off at 7:30pm on Tuesday the 3rd of January 2012 at the Marconi Club, Beehive Lane in Chelmsford. There is no admission fee, and you don’t need to be a member of CARS to attend.
