The December 2014 issue of the RSGB’s magazine RadCom should be with RSGB members in the next couple of days – and again, Amateur Radio activity in Essex gets some attention.
Here’s a summary of the Essex events covered in the next issue:
Braintree and District ARS – A look at their Railways On The Air activities in September, complete with a cute train picture
Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society get three mentions in the “Around your region section: Activities at Sandford Mill and Oaklands for WWI, the successful 30th Foundation course, plus a congratulations to David G3SVI and Myra M0MYR, the society’s joint Radio Amateurs of the Year.
Essex Ham‘s Air Ambulance events were also featured – three days of operation raising awareness for the Essex Air Ambulance.
Essex Repeater Group‘s AGM in October gets a mention, with a picture of the two raffle prize winners. We’ve reviewed the first prize, a Baofeng BF-888S, and it’s currently one of our top five pages.
Loughton & Epping Forest ARS gets a mention for their community day at North Weald Airfield, and a group photo of their eight Foundation successes
If you want to read the articles in full, without having to wait for your copy of RadCom to pop through your letterbox, take a look in the Essex Ham Members section for a PDF version of the ‘Around Your Region’ section.
Well done to all of the clubs in Essex for their hard work at field events and club nights around the county – great that amateurs in Essex are keeping busy and getting noticed.
