welcome to the hobby, essexham has members all over the UK
i work mainly HF with little VHF / UHF (mainly listen to ISS etc)
if you can get onto GB3DA (danbury) on a monday evening 8-9pm i am sure the guys will make you welcome

Hope you don't mind me joining your community - I'm technically not in Essex but very close to it (N.E Walthamstow:)
Wanted to thank you for your excellent YouTube Foundation Licence study guides which I found of great use to refresh my memory about all things amateur radio.
Hope to chat to some of you on-air soon. I can only just make out the Danbury repeater here so doubt I'll be able to access it until I've found someone to put a "proper" antenna on the roof. Currently using a half wave vertical dipole with a Yaesu FT-897D.
