I've come across them a few times now but a bit iffy about getting one as the market's been flooded with cheap imitation rip-offs.
As a starter project, it's a bit of a brute really. Personally, for a home made LNA/rfPA I'd get something cheap and cheerful that I wouldn't mind seeing go up in smoke if the worst came to the worst.

Does anyone have any experience of using the Hack RF1 or something similar as an HF bands transceiver?With assistance from my son we think we can design a suitable amplifier and will have the other kit for a base station.Just wondering if anyone else has used this and with what software.
