SWR Meter (1 reply)
HI.. for reception only - no need for any SWR meter, that is really only for trasnmitting, and with pre tuned antennas like the w-30 it's pretty much tuned at the factory.. if your listening only save your money and get the antenna outside for better reception..

Hi
I am working towards my Foundation Certificate, but have bought a Baofeng uv-6b so as to listen into chats. So far I have barely been able to connect to the Danbury repeater and that too when I step out in open. I am looking to buy a basic 2m antenna (been recommended a W-30 Watson 2m/70cm Base Station Vertical antenna) that I plan to place in my loft initially. I was wondering if I will need a SWR meter as well?
Thanks,
Peeyush
