Use a Rope and sling company, over in kent we use Medway slings in strood, Must be somewhere similar in essex, They have made us loads of wire ropes with crimped ends, just need to know rope size, length and eye size. Thanks for the information yes I had a feeling that it was a case of removing the old tilt over wire and have a replacement made up .
Its very straight forward to remove the old wire from the winch then pull it through the ground post then undo the shackle and remove the wire from the tower .
Vine can sell me a 6mm tilt over wire for a Versatower at £32 + £10 shipping .As for the inside towers I think I will have to remove and send them off to have some replacements made up .

£32 +10 for a tilt over cable is dear !! we replaced the main cable on a P60 for less than that from Medway Slings, I'd ring around the Local sling companies and see what the price per metre of rope is and how they charge for crimping eyes

The update looking for replacement wires for my tower , I did in the end buy a wire from Ron at Vine but even that was not straight forward after being told by Altron that the wires were 6mm however 6mm was found to be to large and Ron changed it out for a 5mm so the tilt on the tower is fine .
While I was inspection the other wires on the other inside sections of the tower its clear that these need to be changed out . Does any body know of any company's in Essex that could make up a set of replacement wires .I did try http://www.londonliftinggear.co.uk/ and was told they no longer do made to measure 5 mm wires .There must be thousands of other tower owners out there I wonder were they get there replacement wires made up from ?
