Tuning a Fan Dipole Antenna (1 reply)
tune a fan dipole with all elements attached
start with the lowest band (longest element) first
don't tune it perfectly, leave the elements a little long, then once you have all elements rough tuned go thought them again and bring them a little closer
rinse and repeat until l you are happy
better to make 3 or 4 small adjustment than 1 or 2 larger ones and may be have to solder some wire back on (been there and had to do it)
also some elements will be dual band, so when tuning keep an eye on both bands
40m (7mhz) will also give you 15m(21mhz),
30m (10mhz) can also give you 6m (50mhz)

When tuning a fan dipole with an antenna analyser, is it best to remove all dipoles apart from one, tune that one and then add another to be tuned, etc. Or, is it OK leave all the dipoles connected and tune each in turn?
