The RSGB has introduced a new process for reporting flawed exam questions, and the new process excludes tutors from raising challenges on behalf of their students.
Reactions from social media:
- A great idea, very poorly executed. Why would they block those best placed to find errors from reporting them? Ridiculous!
- Probably hoping that a new entrant is less likely to challenge/query a question, whereas a tutor giving up their time to help newcomers to the hobby is highly likely to be correct if they raise a dispute.
- Seems a bit shady……or is it stupid or just an oversight?
- Excluding trainers & clubs from helping in sorting out this mess is a disaster.
- Once again, they seem paranoid about opening their processes to scrutiny.

The Background
Essex Ham launched its “report a question” form in May 2024. It’s great that just 10 months later, RSGB decided to adopt the same model. Ours, of course, is open to all – both students and tutors
