If you’re considering becoming an Amateur Radio operator, note that the next Foundation Course is set to run from the Thursday the 1st of September 2011 for six weeks in Danbury.
The short course provides all of the training you’ll need to be able to get on-air, and includes a multiple choice exam, after which those who pass can obtain a licence to broadcast on most amateur bands at a power of 10 watts.
The cost of the course is £50, which includes the exam fee. They’re a great way of getting a feel for hobby, learning the basics, and coming way with both experience, and hopefully a licence to broadcast.
