A reminder to members of the Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society, that tonight (Tuesday the 4th of September), is club night.
This month’s meeting a practical meeting, where CARS Members will show what antennas they have erected at their home QTH.
The CARS team is hoping that, rather than members showing pictures of their 200 foot self-supporting masts, the evening will be used to highlight the more usual antennas that CARS Members have to use due to their location and other limitations. The plan is for a selection of members to show half-a-dozen 6 photos, whilst the Member describes their installation for about 8 minutes. This is to allow as many people as possible to contribute.
The session should be a useful evening for anyone struggling to find the best location for their antenna, especially when there are limiting factors, and it’s hoped that Foundation-level members will be able to glean vital bits of information on how to get the most from their antennas.
There is a set template for presentations, which will include: Name, Callsign, District location, Height above Sea Level, Area of good/bad take-off, Aerial Name, Band(s) used, Rig used and Power.
Also at tonight’s meeting, Club Members will Vote for who they think should receive the “CARS Amateur of the Year” Award. CARS will have the famous Raffle run by Peter Graves, G0KSJ.
The meeting is held at MASC, Beehive Lane, Great Baddow, Chelmsford, CM2 9RX. Start time is 7:30pm. (Free car park)
