A reminder that Monday the 20th of October 2014, is the next CARS Skills Night
If you’ve attended one of the get-togethers before, you’ll know that the evenings offer a good mix of demonstrations, plenty of opportunities to ask questions, and the chance to chat, swap ideas, and pick up tips.
Here’s some of what is planned for the October meet-up:
- Weather Satellites – A first for the Skills Night
- D-Star: Interested in getting to grips with digital radio? Some show-and-tell in the second half
- Callsign Badges – Back again by popular demand – callsign badges while-you-wait
- CW – A live HF station running CW, plus some bits courtesy of the Essex CW Club
- HF Advice: Need help with choosing or setting up the right antennas? Talk to the expert
- Show-and-tell: A couple of interesting items are promised! All are welcome to bring stuff along too
- Quiz: Test your amateur radio knowledge, just for fun
- Plus representatives from CARS, Essex Repeater Group, Essex CW Club and Essex Ham to help with questions
Some other notes
- The Constructors Workshop will be taking a break this month, as the team takes a well-earned break
- CARS membership fees for 2014/15 are now due. Save a stamp – To join or renew, please bring along your £15 subs, as the membership team will be there
