A quick reminder that this coming Monday, the 17th of March, sees the third in the series of CARS Skills Workshops. These free monthly get-togethers is for amateurs of all licence and experience levels to swap ideas, get hands-on with something new, and above all, share knowledge.
The agenda for the evening is decided based on comments received on the feedback forms given out at the end of meetings, and CARS has announced that the following activities are planned for this month’s workshop sessions:
- An introduction to construction – the opportunity to try some soldering
- Using Echolink – Jim 2E0RMI returns by popular demand
- Help and advice on HF and VHF antennas in the domestic environment
- A short (and optional) quiz to test your knowledge of licence conditions and band plans
- A demonstration of a data mode, following last month’s PSK31 session
- Representatives from CARS, the Essex CW Club, the Essex Repeater Group and Essex Ham, happy to answer your questions
The evening starts at 7pm, although you can to arrive any time between 7pm and 9pm. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided, and attendeees are encouraged to bring along some show-and-tell items.
The event is open to all and there’s no charge for attending the CARS Amateur Radio Skills workshops.
