Essex RAYNET Santa Fun Run 2018

On Sunday the 2nd of December 2018, Essex RAYNET supported the Farleigh Hospice 2018 Santa Fun Run.

Several hundred Santas ran or walked the 5km route starting at Chelmsford’s Central Park.

Members of Essex RAYNET provided event communications, including a team at Control, members stationed at various points along the walk, and two providing sweep and collecting event signage.

Here are a few photos from the event…

The Santa Fun Run was the last event of a busy year for Essex RAYNET, and as with all charity events, it makes for a great training opportunity on how to make effective use of amateur radio to help the community. If you’re interested in putting your radio skills to good use, what not consider joining the Essex RAYNET team in 2019?
