Essex Ham’s 23rd field event of 2018 took place on Sunday the 7th of October at the popular Horse & Groom location on Galleywood Common.
It was a little on the chilly side, but a fun one nonetheless, with the aim of getting another afternoon of radio in before Autumn kicks in, limiting what we can d0 field-day-wise.
Four stations were active on multiple bands, with John G4LTH working HF with his highly-portable bike-mobile setup, Charlie M0PZT busy on 40m (and logging onto his Android tab), Peter G0DZB on various bands operating CW, with Pete M0PSX’s 2m station also on the go.

The event saw the presentation of the Region 12 Large Club of the Year trophy by RSGB Regional Representative Peter Onion, G0DZB.
