Thanks to Neil G0RNU for suggesting that Essex Ham helps to raise awareness for the following appeal:
Request for Help on Behalf of the GB3UHF Beacon
The VHF beacon GB3VHF has been running for many years and more recently, the UHF beacon GB3UHF. They both serve as an important propagation tool and also a frequency reference.
It is intended to replace the PLL driver on GB3UHF and the Beacon keeper is asking for assistance with funding this important Beacon.
From the GB3UHF Keeper (taken from their website):
Due to technical limitations in the existing simple PLL driver unit, it is intended to replace the driver unit frequency generator with a new system based on the OZ2M new generation beacon modules.
This will take place in the new year and the intention is that the beacon will transmit the same information in the same formats as at present.
This exercise will cost at least £550 so I am asking if you could please consider donating a few pounds towards this cost, as the existing funds will be insufficient to cover.
