Essex Ham is proud to support GB8PCA, a special event organised by Andrew Brown M0ONH to raise awareness for Prostate Cancer and that early detection saves lives.
Andrew is planning to raise not only awareness, but also money, for this important cause that affects 1 in 8 of men in the UK.
The callsign GB8PCA will be active in August with the support of three Essex clubs – here’s a list of planned activations:
- Mon 8th Aug 8pm: Essex Ham Net on GB3DA Live from East Essex Hackspace (including a live video stream – link to follow!)
- Tue 9th Aug 8pm: SEARS Club Night in Benfleet – Operating HF and information stand
- Sat 13th Aug 11am to 4pm: East Essex HackSpace – Radio and information stand
- Mon 15th Aug 8pm: Essex Ham Net on GB3DA (listen over the Internet at essexham.net)
- Fri 19th Aug 8pm: TARG Club Net on GB3DA
- Sun 21st Aug 11am-4pm: Field event, at Galleywood Common (by the Horse & Groom Pub)
Andrew’s planning to raise money for this cause by donating £1 for every logged QSO he has using the GB8PCA callsign, so make time to make contact, and help raise some money for Prostate Cancer UK). There’s also a JustGiving Donation Page.

Please take the time to show your support by making contact with Andrew on-air via an Essex Ham, SEARS or TARG event – and if you’d like to come and join the fun at one of the planned Essex Ham events, everyone’s welcome!
