Over 35 of the UK’s network of Hospital Radio stations linked together between the 30th of December 2018 and the 1st of January 2019 for “The Big Broadcast 2018” – a 42-hour marathon broadcast.
Some of the hospital radio stations here in Essex took the live feed of the national show – and one of the show’s presenters just happened to be a familiar voice and face… Jonathan M0JSX – one of the team at Martin Lynch & Sons
We thought we’d shine a light on him, and the rest of the presenters of this special broadcast, by posting up a clip of Jonathan and the others in action…

… Unless you know differently, this might be the first mention of “amateur radio” on a UK broadcast radio station in 2019!
It does raise the interesting question of how many broadcast radio people are also licensed radio hams… If you broadcast on UK radio – add your name, callsign and radio station as a comment below, and we’ll see how many broadcasters there are out there who transmit on the ham bands…
