In support of the June Summer Solstice, Essex Ham will be active during the day from Galleywood Common, near Chelmsford on Monday the 21st of June 2021. The June Summer Solstice of course marks the longest day.
The team will be active using the callsign GB0JSS on HF and VHF voice (possibly other modes) – keep an eye on our Twitter Feed for frequencies and operating times.
Visitors to the site are welcome, whether setting up a station or coming to say hello, but some conditions to note:
- Under current restrictions, outside gatherings are limited to 30 people. If we have over that number, we will be activating a second location at Galleywood Common
- Social distancing applies, and we ask all site visitors to respect the rules
- Those setting up a station will be expected to have completed an EMF assessment (in accordance with the May 2021 licence changes) and to take appropriate steps to ensure a suitable distance from the general public
- We’re at the location close to the Horse & Groom Pub, but access to the pub (and loo) may be limited, and require a mask.
