Monday the 26th of November 2012 saw another get-together on GB3DA, the local 2 metre repeater for Essex.
As with previous Monday Night Nets, it’s aimed at the new M6 licence-holders, but of course welcome to all.

It was interesting to learn that most foundation license holders are either not aware of what the RSGB does for amateur radio, and that they are not members, (although in fairness, all have said that they intend to join at some point in the future) Perhaps there is a need to include a section in the foundation license course to explain what the RSGB does for amateur radio and why we should be supporting them.

Agreed. The RSGB EMC advisory service gets a mention, but as I recall, not a lot else. A a minimum Radcom and Bureau need a plug. ALthough, RSGB doers mail out a welcome pack to new M6s which contains info on what RSGB does. Mine included discounted membership for the first year
