Was a great net as always , many diverse subjects chatted about , “region 12 or Area 51” , didn’t realise it got noted , me and the silly things I come out with , …well I’m sure there are some who think we should be in Area 51 ..alas they know not of our wonderful hobby . And the silverware is very well deserved indeed ESSEX HAM , well done !! Thank you Rachel for running the net , really enjoyed it , so much so, I forgot to feed the cat and dog at 8pm lol xx
The Area 51 bit made me chuckle, so it went in! Poor pets got a double dose to apologise, I hope!
Oh … HAPPY HAMMING …( forgot to add that bit) xx
The 23rd is St George’s day ! NOOOO it’s Sigurd’s day, the Hunnish Prince who killed the dragon Fafnir and ate its heart. PS, Hunnish is an old name for the Frankish lands and not where Atilla came from :-)
Boy, it’s good to be back
Welcome back Brian. OK. next year, special dispensation – we’ll let you honour Sigurd and educate those who work the station in the ways of the Hunnish… Do we all need to dress up? Pete
Thank you for the comment Dorothy, i do my best. I must have missed the area 51 comment. xx
No Peter, I’ll bring my white dragon banner ……..NOT
I would only bore you all with history and the link to the Norse and Anglo-Saxon lore bore out in the Eddas and Norse sagas, far to much in the mind hoard for the likes of one day, lets have Northern Germanic history month !
Do you know how it upsets people when they find out that the English are officially Northern Germanic people :-) Ask the UN, we’re on the list of Northern Germanic countries.
Blame Hengest and Horsa, 449AD the coming of the English
Bri
I was able to reach GB3DA first time and be part of Essex Ham Monday Night Net.
My radio was a Yeasu FT-60 with 5W and with a Diamond SRH-771 antenna.
My Location: North Greenford, London, IO91UN
This was a great success for me! :-)
Thank you
Gabor, M6YUG
