I must admit I was miffed when I heard about Chelmsford council’s plan to drop the ‘Home of Radio’ signature from their signs. We are forever being told by the council bods that we live in an inclusive multi-cultural society and I would then think Marconi would be the very man to qualify their mantra.
I mean an Italian who resided in England and enabled a system to communication to the 4 corners of the world ? what is there not for Chelmsford council to like about his contribution to world science ?
Really, if I can see it and acknowledge it then I am sure our erudite Chelmsford council leaders should find it an elephant of Mega proportions in the room !
Oh, did I really just use the word ‘erudite’ in the same sentence as ‘Chelmsford Council’ in relation to a question of our history lol
Good fun net even though the numbers were down a tad, enjoyed your company all !
