Essex Ham has recently started making use of a quadcopter fitted with an HD camera for taking overhead images and video from field events. We’ve had some interest from many of you asking for more information.
The drone we’re using is surprisingly low-cost – priced at under £40, and for the price, takes some decent shots. The model is a Syma X5C
This is a 4 channel, 6 axis gyro quadcopter, with the following spec:

The weight listed is from the supplier spec sheet and is the shipping weight (with box and controller). Just weighed mine – aircraft with blade guards and battery weighs 104g. Review updated accordingly.
