The Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society (CARS) will be operating from the Marconi Hut at Sandford Mill, near Chelmer Village in Chelmsford
Sanford Mill is an industrial museum that houses a collection of exhibits that mark Chelmsford’s technological achievements, including many Marconi exhibits from the birthplace of radio. Sandford Mill holds a small number of public open days each year, and each Sunday in August, the public can explore the museum for free. It’s a great family day, and it’s also a good opportunity to find out more about radio and to watch the team from the Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society transmitting to other amateurs.
CARS will be operating using the callsign GB100MWT from the Marconi Hut at Sandford Mill on the following dates:
- Sunday 7th August from 2pm to 5pm
- Sunday 14th August from 2pm to 5pm
- Sunday 21st August from 2pm to 5pm
- Sunday 28th August from 2pm to 5pm
