Those tuning in to GB3DA on Sunday the 1st of March 2015 would have found it a little more busy than usual – Four new Essex licencees got their licence last Friday, and were airing their shiny new callsigns. It quickly turned into a net and the controller at the time, Chris (aka KOLT) handed over the hotseat to Pete M0PSX.
The result? Almost 4 hours of net, with 14 members… Makes a change to have a busy net on a Sunday… and anyone stumbling across GB3DA might have thought that Monday had come along a day early.
Rather than being an Essex Ham net, this became the “Sunday Night KOLT Net” – and a good fun gathering it was… free from disclaimers!

Was good fun, Congrats to all the new stations who recently got their licence, and nice to hear familiar voices too, best wishes everyone , keep it going xx
’twas good, I was beginning to wonder if there was a ‘No net on Sunday’ clause written into the marriage vows that I didn’t remember lol.
That said, the wife seems to get the idea and brought me up a coffee circa 2300 hrs.
Gods, that’s gonna cause problems when she can get round to doing her foundation licence, who makes the coffee ???.
KOLT Net, tonsil tweaking for the Monday Night Net methinks !!
