Tuesday the 16th of September 2014 saw members of the Thurrock Acorn Amateur Radio Club meet for their regular monthly club night.
The theme for the evening was Construction, with a presentation on how to go about building an electronic item. The talk was by Carl Thomson G3PEM, who had previously given a talk to the club on the subject of marine radio. Carl brought a box of goodies which he promptly used to show the club member’s the best way to solder components onto a circuit board and all that entails.
The presentation included the little ‘tricks of the trade’ which helped to simplify some areas. Carl kept the group mesmerised for over an hour as he gave his presentation. The group have now asked if Carl can return at a later date to take the presentation to the next level.
