This coming Saturday, the 13th of December, sees the annual Christmas Open Day at Waters & Stanton in Hockley – better known to us locals as “the Emporium”.
The Christmas get-together is certainly worth attending if you’re in the area – there’s normally the opportunity to talk to representatives from equipment manufacturers and suppliers, some free food and drink courtesy of Pete Waters and Jeff Stanton, and often, so real bargains to be had. We don’t have much information on which manufacturers will be attending as yet, but the Waters & Stanton site confirms that the following will be attending:
- Yaesu
- Essex Repeater Group
- Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society
- Essex CW Club
If you have some free time on Saturday, do try to pop down… as well as the chance of a bargain, it’s a good social meeting place, so come along and have a chat, as well as put the faces to the voices you talk with on-air.
